Flooding is not covered on any HO3, homeowner, policy unless caused by a covered peril. In order for flooding to be covered a separate Flood Policy must be purchased. There are two options for flood insurance in Tennessee: Private Flood Insurance & the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP; FEMA backed). Yes, there is a HUGE difference in the two as far as price.
