Prevent Water Claims

Safeco Insurance has a few great tips on how to protect your home from water damage. A few of these we have already discussed in our past blog posts, but there are a few more listed below that can really keep you from having costly damage. Wireless leak sensors and water smart valves are two of the newest ways of preventing water damage. Alerts can be sent directly to your smart phone when water is detected. Devises/Appliances can even be shut off if leaking is detected.

If sensors are not an option it is always best to stay vigilant and maintain your property. We call this “pride of ownership“. Always check hoses, inspect your water heater, monitor the water bill, and clean your gutters/down spouts regularly. These simple things can make a big difference in keeping your home safe from water damage.
